Mountain gorilla infants depend on their mother’s milk for the first few years of life, although they begin experimenting with solid foods at around three to four months. Mothers maintain almost constant physical contact with their newborns, carrying, grooming, and nursing them throughout the day. Young gorillas typically stay close to their mothers until they are several years old. Nikon Z8 with Nikkor 70-200mm lens (at 135mm) ISO 2200, f/28 at 1/640th of a second.
